Season's Greetings and a Great 2006 to all.

Funny question at Christmas time I know, but who knows someone may have the
answer.

I wonder if anyone here has any experience of getting access to records of
court affiliation proceedings against putative fathers (in England & Wales)
from the 1950s/60s era and how you'd go about it?

Hi Robin,

I did some looking for you today and found this:
http://www.oireachtas-debates.gov.ie/S/0078/S.0078.197406270005.html

I'm wondering if maybe they would have the archived materials in your
local library, or you may be able to find someone there who could put
you in the right direction.

I also found about a half dozen more sites for you, but would prefer to
send them privately, if that's alright with you. Let me know.....

Thanks, I'm hoping I might hear from a lawyer who has had some success in
doing one of these in England, before I put it to my own legal advisers.

The particular individual county court concerned has not been very helpful
in the past with adoption records matters that have been raised there.

I'm fairly familiar with the UK Parliament by now, see

http://robin.harritt.net

my email address is on webpage in my sig.

is tracing genetic fathers/ paternal family, a subject of particular
interest to you?

Cheers

Robin

Hi Robin,

As a matter of fact, I am looking for my b/dad. I found b/mom this
past May but she claims not to remember his last name and that he
didn't know about me; she did tell me his first name is Bill. I'm one
of the lucky ones as I was born in the state of Kansas, so I've had my
birth file since I was about 19 or 20, but in the space for father's
name is "Unknown". I have some non-id on him and have made inquiries
regarding that info, but nothing solid so far.

So, while my limited knowledge on this topic only extends to a few of
the states over here, I thought I'd have a go at trying to find some
useful info for you and maybe learn something in the process about the
proceedures over there.

I will forward to you the other websites I found shortly.
