I may well be close, and have sent off a letter to someone who may be my
mother in England. I am waiting on that. I spoke with someone who could be a
first cousin, and she seemed to think that her aunt was very close match.

That being said, if this comes to naught, I have all of my file from the
Nottingham Catholic C.A.S. I got it seven years ago - how the time flies,
and I have information that I have not followed up on - my godmother's name
and the name of the church that I was baptized in. I was thinking of writing
the church and asking if they would have any information. I have not to this
point, as what is written in a letter could be very embarrassing if read by
the wrong persons and rumours spread.

I'm a lawyer so nothing bad can be said about me that has not been said a
thousand times before, but I would be concerned about my birthmother if she
was still in that area.

Any ideas?

They were a bit clingy and had to be told when their part of the job was over
but at least they were far more professional in their approach than Barnardo's
